About Kristin

Over the course of my career, regardless of any given role, I have passionately pursued the potential for personal and social change. After spending almost two decades working in LGBTQ+ communities and advancing equity initiatives in nonprofit, government, and healthcare organizations, I decided to pursue the work that spoke most to my heart, purpose, and values - providing therapy and support to LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the journey to parenthood and creating loving, sustainable, and satisfying relationships. It was my own experience navigating and healing from postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of our first child that shaped my understanding of the gaps in care for LGBTQ+ individuals and families as we navigate this vulnerable and transformative season of life.

Before obtaining my Master of Social Work from the University of Washington in 2018, I spent over 15 years working with LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, providing counseling and advocacy to individual survivors, facilitating support groups, and teaching relationship skills classes in a variety of settings. This experience shaped my understanding of how trauma and systemic oppression shapes our lives and relationships, and the power and potential for healing in community.
For over 20 years, I have provided training, facilitation, and consultation on creating more inclusive, trauma-informed, and equitable relationships, services, and organizations to thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations across the United States. In addition to my therapy and consultation work, I also provide leadership coaching for emerging and established leaders seeking to center social justice in their leadership practice.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (SWI.LW.61493294) in Washington state, and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist.  In addition to my private practice, I am a part-time Faculty Lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work, where I teach clinical direct practice in the Master of Social Work program.

When not working, I can be found chasing my fierce & energetic kids, cooking, connecting with friends and family, following the WNBA and cheering for the Seattle Storm, spending time outdoors, and voraciously consuming audiobooks & podcasts while forever multitasking.

"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion."
